Where do I start with this glorious book?

I picked up this book because one of my friends who is really not into this genre liked it. Suffices to say that I was not at all disappointed!!

The Love Hypothesis is a book set in the backdrop of STEM academia. The story revolves around Olive, a grad student and Dr. Carlsen, a professor who end up fake dating as a consequence of some questionable decisions taken by the former. Obviously, the general trend of this genre sets in to make this an absolutely delightful read. I particularly love the sunshine x grumpy trope and the author utilises it to the maximum potential. I mean who doesn't like a generally antagonistic and unapproachable character fall head over heels with someone who is literally the human version of sunshine and rainbows? Though I'm a smidge let down that only Olive's point of view is expressed throughout the book, I found myself smiling and screaming at her simultaneously. If you do not relate with her, you are not a lovable dork!

(Evidently, I badly wanted Adam's point of view and I got that by signing up for the author's newsletter. I still have not recovered from swooning over that one chapter and would pay a million bucks to read the entire book from his perspective.)

Though romance is the main focus, the plot also deals with cutthroat competition, the difficulties of academia, especially for women and also dives a bit into the LGBTQ+ arena. In short, a fantastic book which I'm sure I'd pick up many more times because Adam and Olive have become firm favourites in my heart.

P.S. This book deserved the best Goodreads Book of the Year under the romance category for sure!

P.P.S. Hoping to squeeze in one more re-read before the year ends XD
